Due to a failure of the high-voltage transmission line that supplies Žabljak from the direction of Brezan, consumers have been without electricity since 15 p.m.
As Televizija Vijesti unofficially learns, it is questionable whether the power supply will be established by tomorrow.
CEDIS and CGES confirmed this in a joint statement.
"The bad weather conditions that affected the area of Žabljak today led to problems on the 35 kV transmission line Brezna - Žabljak, which currently serves as the only power supply to Žabljak. The power supply from Pljevlja was turned off at the request of CGES, due to works on the 400 kV transmission line in within the Trans-Balkan Corridor. CEDIS and CGES crews were immediately deployed to rectify the fault or provide alternative power. Crews are still on the ground, making every effort to restore power despite extremely bad weather conditions. If normalization does not occur voltage conditions, the teams of CEDIS and CGES will continue their work in the early morning hours. We apologize to all citizens of Žabljak for the inconvenience caused by the interruption in the electricity supply," reads the press release of CEDIS and CEGES.
The Municipality of Žabljak told TV News that all roads have been cleared, except for the section towards Little Montenegro.
