The teams of the Montenegrin Electric Distribution System (CEDIS) and the Montenegrin Electric Transmission System (CGES) last night solved the problem on the network and turned on the transmission line that serves to power Žabljak, the companies announced.
They stated on Facebook that the bad weather conditions that affected the area of Žabljak on Wednesday led to problems on the 35 kV transmission line Brezna - Žabljak, which currently serves as the only power supply for Žabljak.
"The power supply from Pljevlja was turned off at the request of CGES, due to works on the 400 kV transmission line within the trans-Balkan corridor," says the joint statement of CEDIS and CGES.
According to reports, their crews were immediately engaged in order to eliminate the fault or provide an alternative power supply.
CEDIS and CGES said their crews were on the ground late last night, making every effort to restore power despite extremely poor weather conditions.
"If the voltage situation does not normalize, the CEDIS and CGES teams will continue their work in the early morning hours," the announcement says.
CEDIS and CGES apologized to all the citizens of Žabljak for, as they said, the inconvenience caused by the interruption in the electricity supply.
