The police department has warned citizens that a fake prize game is being organized on the Facebook social network on the profile called "Car import - Auto Marković" - Kanjiža, through which users of the social network are sent a notification that they have become the lucky winners of a "VW Golf VII" vehicle by random selection. .
After the notification of the win, the alleged winners receive calls in which they are instructed via the mentioned profile to make payments for the costs of taxes, towing service and transfer of ownership.
"Several citizens turned to the Podgorica Security Department and submitted reports, in which they stated that they had made the payments according to the given instructions, after which all contact with the organizers of the raffle was lost," the Police Directorate announced.
They asked citizens to be careful and, if they receive an invitation for prize games on the Internet and from unverified profiles on social networks, not to leave their personal data and not make monetary payments, in order to avoid potential inconveniences.
The police are undertaking activities to identify the person behind the disputed profile on social networks, they conclude in the announcement.
