The Acting Commander of the Anti-Terrorist Unit (PTJ), Petar Knežević, announced himself through the IN4S portal, known for hate speech, the spread of intolerance and nationalist propaganda, and said that "it is not his fault that he loves his Montenegro the most in the world, but he is guilty of gave his life for Serbia and Republika Srpska".
Knežević stated that he had a "moral obligation" to speak like that, and neither he nor IN4S clarified what exactly Knežević was reacting to and what was the specific reason for his speech.
The head of the Islamic community in Montenegro, Rifat Fejzić, reacted to his statement on IN4S, who in a post on the social network X (formerly Twitter) asked if this was "the same narrative of those who committed genocide in Srebrenica for the Republika Srpska".
"What kind of message is this to the minorities in the police, should they defend us," Fejzić asked President Jakov Milatović, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, Minister of the Interior Danilo Saranović and Director of the Police Administration Nikola Terzić.
Yesterday, Knežević gave a statement in the Basic Court of Cetinje regarding the events that took place in that city on September 5, 2021, when demonstrators tried to prevent the enthronement of Metropolitan Joaniki of Montenegrin and Littoral.
"I stood by my earlier statement before prosecutor Radunović. I saw that the driver of the machine, Miroslav Vuković, was prosecuted and I have a moral obligation to tell the truth because he did not come there privately, but at the request of the state to clear the barricades from the demonstrators and enable us to provide an unhindered place in front of the monastery so that the metropolitan and patriarch could come safely ... All this took place in more or less familiar circumstances that I have described and I will use this opportunity when you have already invited me to announce myself in a few words to the public," Knežević pointed out for the IN4S portal.
He claims that some non-governmental organizations slandered him.
"I am asking some shameful non-governmental organizations to take more money next time when it comes to me, to smear me, to disturb my reputation in society, because I am not someone with whom you will exchange your political points. And if you are already doing that, don't forget that I know the security situation in the country and the region very well and that, unfortunately, I am operationally very well informed. I know your handlers who pushed you against me and don't let them waste you. They take advantage of that, because I remember much better who I am and what I am and what I am capable of than they do", he believes and adds that "they came dirty to my grandfather's land, not me to theirs".
Those "cheap gentlemen", as he says, "think battles to fight from comfortable armchairs, trying to criminalize anyone who does not think like them and who does not change for a handful of chars or a rank higher".
"Gentlemen, Petar Knežević is much more respected in foreign countries than you. He has proven it, and likewise, when you go to the toilets of foreign services, do not speak cheaply about me because that has its price... Time is masterfully sifted. When you write reports about my acquaintances, don't forget that I used to be an athlete from Yugoslavia, while you were spying on each other in school classes..." concluded Knežević.
IN4S praised Knežević, pointing out that he was the only one who did not change his testimony in the case in which the trial was held yesterday.
