The Department for Agriculture of the Municipality of Pljevlja provided about 5000 seedlings of various continental fruits, which will be distributed to Pljevlja fruit growers in the following days.
At most, about 4000 plum seedlings of the appropriate assortment, adequate for the agro-ecological conditions of the municipality, 500 apple seedlings, 100 pear seedlings and about 400 other seedlings of various fruit species were acquired. Support to agricultural producers - fruit growers from the municipal Agrobudget amounts to 50 percent of the purchase price of seedlings, the total value of which is around 11.550 euros.
The collection of planting material is organized in the greenhouse of the Greenery Work Unit and will last until the final distribution of the entire contingent.
The Municipality announced that this measure is extremely important for the maintenance, restoration and expansion of orchards in the rural area of the municipality, with special, long-term economic significance for agricultural households.
They say that in the future, the local administration will continue with this and similar support measures for agricultural producers from the area of the municipality of Pljevlja.
