The Center for Civic Education (CGO) asked whose interest it was that Kosovo businessman Naser Ramaj received honorary Montenegrin citizenship.
They provided the media with a document from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with the seal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the name of the former minister Filip Adžić at the bottom of the page, in which Ramaj was admitted to Montenegrin citizenship.
"Naser Ramaj submitted to the Government of Montenegro request No. 01-207/23-4169 dated August 28.08.2023, 12, to consider the possibility of acquiring Montenegrin citizenship by admission in the sense of Article 13 of the Law on Montenegrin Citizenship ("Official Gazette of Montenegro", no. 2008/40, 2010/28, 2011/46, 2011/20, 2014/54 - US Decision, 2016/73 and 2019/80), as an investor of the large project in Budva 'Porto Budva', worth around XNUMX million euros, a great lover of Montenegro, which he considers his country," the document states, among other things.
The CGO asked whether "love for the state is measured by the millions invested".
"This could be concluded from the last so-called honorary citizenship of Montenegro awarded by the 43rd Government... According to the CBCG and the Revenue and Customs Administration, the two companies that Ramaj has in Montenegro are not at such a price as his feelings. Namely, the Alert Center CG is on the black list of tax debtors, and Nova gradnja has been blocked since June 06.06.2021, 531.485,89, and the amount of the block is XNUMX euros," announced the CGO.
They asked if this had escaped the notice of those who granted him citizenship under the privileged procedure.
"Or is it the intention of the 43rd Government that, despite the fact that he is classified this way by the competent state authorities, to reward him and in whose interest is it? Thank you to our followers on social networks who pointed out this information to us when we announced that Ramaj had received citizenship according to a privileged procedure", it concludes.
