The diplomatic humanitarian bazaar "Humanity connects the worlds" of the International Women's Club was opened today in the "Big Fashion" shopping center in Podgorica.
The bazaar organizers reminded that more than 30.000 euros were collected last year and expressed their gratitude to all citizens and exhibitors.
Milena Milatović, wife of the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, opened the bazaar with the message that "community and joint efforts are essential in achieving one goal of democracy."
"We are aware that the world is faced with great problems and challenges. Fortunately, Montenegro is protected in this regard, but that does not mean that it is not without problems. Today we are here to send a strong message that with joint efforts we can move towards a brighter future. I especially wish to highlight the efforts of the International Women's Club, which represents the strength of global solidarity," said Milatović.
She pointed out that she was especially glad that many children were present at the bazaar.
Milatović stressed that the bazaar should encourage all visitors to provide help to those who need it most.
This year, 26 embassies are participating.
The president of the International Women's Club, Bilge Kalkavan, thanked all the embassies for their great contribution.
"We will forward the donations to the state hospital 'Danilo I' and the Cetinje gynecology department," she said.
She said that "peace and prosperity are needed by all".
Montenegrin singer-songwriter Danijel Alibabić performed in the artistic part of the program.
Television Vijesti, Nezavisni dnenvnik Vijesti and Portal Vijesti, as well as the Center for Investigative Journalism of Montenegro, also have a stand at the bazaar.
This year, as well as all the years so far, well-known TV personalities, journalists from the portal and the newspaper Vijesti will contribute to the collection of money to help those who need it the most.
The International Women's Club, in cooperation with UNHCR, decided this year to support schools in Bar, Andrijevica and Kolašin, as well as the gynecology department of the hospital in Cetinje.
Media employees of Vijesti have been contributing since the establishment of the diplomatic bazaar with their humanitarian work. Partners also join the news in order to collect as much money as possible. This year they are fashion designer Milena Đurđić, La Parisienne and La mia casa.
During the bazaar, visitors will be able to socialize and talk with journalists from the most watched television in Montenegro and the most read portal, as well as from the Center for Investigative Journalism, but also to taste delicacies prepared for them by popular media personalities.
