Mandić presented annual awards for volunteerism

Today, the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Andrija Mandić, presented the annual awards for volunteerism to Filip Marković from Cetinje and the Volunteer Club of the Elementary School "Brotherhood - Unity" from Rožaj.

Mandić, at the ceremony arranged by the non-governmental organization Association for Democratic Prosperity - Zid, said that awards for volunteerism should continue to be awarded in the Parliament, whose doors are open to everyone, and that it would be a nice tradition.

As reported by the Assembly, he said that volunteerism has always been present in Montenegro as a society throughout history.

As he said, the Association for Democratic Prosperity - Zid is the main promoter of that noble idea in the non-governmental sector.

"We are all aware of the number of non-governmental organizations in Montenegro, therefore ADP-Zid stands out as someone who, in a sea of ​​deceptive phrases and empty words, shows his activism with results," Mandić pointed out.

He reminded her that the Wall, as an organization with almost 30 years of "experience", has a handful of results that have concretely influenced the improvement of the living standards of citizens, especially young people, because, as he stated, it itself began its engagement as a student organization.

"The non-governmental sector, in addition to being a true corrective factor, and not what some pretend to be, should also build cohesion and cooperation with other social spheres, primarily with our legislative and executive authorities, in order to work in an atmosphere of agreement on developing programs aimed at improving the lives of all citizens of Montenegro," said Mandić.

He said that the doors of the Parliament of Montenegro are wide open for any type of cooperation that will contribute to solving all issues and problems that burden our society.

The executive director of the Association for Democratic Prosperity - Zid Sanda Rakočević said that volunteerism and volunteers in every state represent a huge human potential with relevant knowledge and skills useful for the community, with excellent knowledge of the problems and people living in the local community.

"By volunteering, we consciously donate our time, abilities and energy for the benefit of others - individuals, communities, society or the environment," emphasized Rakočević.

He stated that volunteering is not an internship, professional training, apprenticeship and is not free work.

This year's award in the individual category went to volunteer Filip Marković from Cetinje, while the group award went to the Volunteer Club of the Primary School "Brotherhood - Unity" from Rožaj.
