Montenegro's European path is an absolute priority, Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Naida Nišić said at a meeting with Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Branimir Jukić.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare announced that Nišić and Jukić discussed the undertaken activities and plans of that government department for the upcoming period.
"At the meeting, Nišić expressed her satisfaction with the cooperation between Montenegro and BiH in numerous areas, which is based on good neighborly and friendly relations between the two countries, and pointed out that the European path of Montenegro is an absolute priority," the announcement states.
She said that, in this context, they are implementing several important reforms whose ultimate goal is to speed up the process of Montenegro joining the European Union (EU).
"Your selfless support is of great importance to us, bearing in mind that we share common values and aspiration towards the society of European nations, where we unequivocally belong," said Nišić.
Jukić said that Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue to support Montenegro on its way to the EU and that the countries of the region can also benefit from the reforms implemented by Montenegro.
According to him, the entry of Montenegro into the EU is also beneficial for the Union itself.
"Our two countries exchange good practices and thus we cooperate in numerous areas, and certain challenges remain common to both countries. I wish you much success in implementing reforms on the way to the EU", Jukić added.
At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors agreed that Montenegro and BiH remain committed to bilateral cooperation and that strengthening regional cooperation is one of the goals on the way to EU integration.
