The officers of the Security Department (OB) of Kolašin are still working on the identification of the persons who illegally cut down eight black pine trees and three poplar trees on November 13, on a private plot in the Dulovina Park-Forest.

The police say that, according to the order of the basic state prosecutor (ODT), "they are taking all the necessary measures and actions provided for by law in order to identify the persons who carried out illegal logging".

They also say that they received an answer from the local Secretariat for Environmental Protection "that the Dulovine Forest Park is not yet a protected nature area or an area that enjoys previous (temporary) protection". The OB claims that "in their capacity as citizens, the necessary notifications were collected from individuals, and a letter was also sent to the Environmental Protection Agency".

The opposition club of councilors of the Movement "Together we are building Kolašin" announced that the person who owns the plots on which illegal logging took place, during the public hearing on the draft of the Spatial-Urban Plan (PUP), requested that "guidelines for UTU be issued" for that plot from the PUP for the object of family individual housing".

"Although the Spatial Plan of the municipality of Kolašin has not yet been adopted, someone dared to start clearing the ground and preparing for the construction of the building before publishing the developer's response and getting the opportunity to issue direct guidelines for construction. Considering that this is an area for which a protection study is being prepared, we wonder who was influential enough to promise the owner that he would be able to build on the disputed plot and to cover up the whole case, less than two weeks later. asked from the Club of Councilors of the Movement "Together we are building Kolašin".

Members of the Movement claim that they informed the Government of Montenegro and the Prime Minister about the incident in Dulovine Milojko Spajić, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Environmental Protection Agency and the competent inspection. In this way, they claim that they are trying to "prevent the destruction of the Dulovina park-forest and reduce the adoption of a study on the protection of this area".

They remind that the procedure for adopting the study started more than a year ago and that it is managed by the Environmental Protection Agency. For that purpose, according to the Movement, the Municipality received a donation in the amount of almost 15.000 euros.

They call on the citizens of Kolašin, activists, and the civil sector "to raise their voices against the obvious intention to devastate the Dulovina park-forest and allow individuals to build in the middle of the protected area with the tacit consent of the local authorities."
