The National Computer Security Incident Response Center (CIRT) warns citizens that a phishing campaign has appeared on the Viber platform with the aim of compromising accounts, which allows the attacker to access messages, contact lists and impersonate account users.
This was announced on the Government's website.
"We recommend that you do not access the links in the message if you do not expect them or if they look suspicious," CIRT states.
In the announcement, they also said that if there is a compromise, in order to deactivate access to your Viber account on other devices (computers or tablets), you need to take the following actions on your mobile phone:
"Open the Viber application on your mobile device;
Select the option "More" ("More") in the lower right corner of the screen;
Select the "Settings" option to access the settings;
Select the item "Account";
Select "Desktop and Tablets" and check which devices have access to your account;
If there is a device in the list that you did not add, deactivate it;
Confirm deactivation when prompted."
