Vocational education focuses on providing skills and knowledge that are directly applicable in a specific occupation or field of work, and thus contributes to the economic development of the country, said State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MPNI) Dragan Bojović.
An Erasmus plus information day in the field of professional education and training was organized at the National Erasmus Office in Montenegro.
As the Ministry said, the aim of the information day is to present the results that Montenegro has achieved during its participation in the action so far, to present the news within the new call for project proposals of the Erasmus Plus program.
The goal, they added, is to inform all potential participants in this program about the possibilities of participation in the action Building capacities in the field of vocational education and training for which Montenegro is qualified to participate.
"At the meeting, it was emphasized that the support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation is extremely important for the further development of this program," the announcement states.
Bojović said that he wants the fruitful exchange of knowledge, skills and experiences, interpersonal acquaintances and friendships, both on the educational and human level, to continue in full capacity in the future.
He emphasized that vocational education focuses on providing practical skills, knowledge and training that is directly applicable in a particular industry, occupation or field of work.
According to Bojović, the goal of professional education is to prepare people for entry into a certain profession or sector, providing them with specific technical, practical and professional knowledge and skills.
"Thus, it contributes to the economic development of the country, because it trains people for jobs that are important for the productivity and competitiveness of society," Bojović said.
He added that professional education also encourages innovation because it educates people who are able to apply their knowledge and skills in order to realize new technologies.
Bojović pointed out that nowadays there is a shortage of personnel in many important areas.
As he said, there is a lack of skilled craftsmen, craftsmen, electricians, mechanics, and builders.
"When someone is said to be a master, it has always meant that he is knowledgeable and unrivaled in his field. The title master, however, is devalued in practice today and is disappearing more and more. Therefore, mastery, craftsmanship, and skills should be reaffirmed and their importance emphasized anew," Bojović concluded.
The participants, as announced, expressed their satisfaction with the results achieved so far by Montenegro within the Erasmus plus program.
In addition to representatives of the MPNI, the director of the national Erasmus plus office in Montenegro Vanja Drljević, assistant director of the Center for Vocational Education Gordana Bošković, as well as representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro participated in the event.
