The trade union organization of the local administration bodies of the Capital City of Podgorica called on Prime Minister Milojko Spajić to prevent an item on the reduction of wages in that local administration from being placed on the agenda of the parliamentary session.
The president of that trade union organization, Željko Krgović, in an open letter to Spajić, said that employees in the capital city of Podgorica welcome the Liberation Day with trepidation due to the announcement that their wages will be reduced by 50 to 180 euros, depending on the level of education.
"Is it a congratulatory message or are you sending us a message through the new City administration that the promises about salary increases and better status of citizens have failed despite the dizzying growth of inflation and food supplies," asked Krgović.
He stated that Spajić, as an economic expert, is clear that since the last increase inflation has reached 25 percent and that the consumer basket for a family of four amounts to almost two thousand euros.
"The potential decrease in wages and the impact on the employees' budget will directly affect the livelihood of our children," said Krgović.
He said that it is easy to calculate how much damage would be done to a social group of employees in the capital, which with family members exceeds four thousand citizens of Podgorica.
Krgović stated that Mayor Olivera Injac's statement about rationalization and the large number of employees in companies, such as Čistoća or Vodovod, represents a replacement of theses.
According to him, economic companies have their own budgets, and their directors at the time have autonomy, which has nothing to do with the employees of local self-government bodies and services.
"The statements we heard that university graduates are almost equal to management staff, and therefore they should be materially degraded, also call into question the principles of the decisions made on increasing and equalizing pensions and benefits for mothers with three or more children, where mothers are in full equalized with those who have never received a pension through work experience", says the announcement.
As it is assessed, the partnership between the employer and the trade union that represents the rights of the employees is a civilizational one.
Krgović added that the union will continue to insist on this, because every serious manager starts from the axiom "a satisfied employee is an efficient employee".
"That's why we invite you to react with your integrity and prevent this item from being placed on the agenda of the parliamentary session, scheduled for December 26 this year," concluded Krgović.
