The state of air quality is usual for this time of year, said Bojana Obradović from the Environmental Protection Agency.
Exceeding values of PM 10 and PM 2,5 particles, she pointed out, were recorded in the central and northern regions.
"In November, an increase in PM 10 and PM 2,5 particles was recorded in Pljevlje for 12 days, in Bijelo Polje for 11 days. Overruns were also recorded in the central region in the previous month. During December, high and very high concentrations of the mentioned particles were also measured in the northern and central regions."
Lidija Šćepanović said that the situation is not alarming and that this issue should not be dealt with only during the heating season.
In the central and northern zones, we need to improve air quality, while in the southern zone, that quality is at a satisfactory level.
During the year, 35 days of exceeding PM 10 particles are allowed, and in 2022, we had 124 days in Pljevlje, and 81 days in Bijelo Polje. These are some of the indicators that tell us that the air quality needs to be improved in the northern, but also in the central region, where more than 35 days were also recorded. He states that the construction of collective heating systems is necessary in order to work on solving this problem.
