The furniture in Kraljevo Park, opposite the "Hilton" hotel in Podgorica, was destroyed, and many citizens were shocked by this act.
Although the tables in the park, intended for playing chess, are made of concrete, the vandals managed to break the boards and knock them down.
In addition to the collapsed concrete tables in the park, benches were also damaged.
Gutters installed on the gazebo were also stolen, cables were pulled.
"One of the 'Zelenil' workers told me that it was done by 'some Roma' who removed all the gutters and everything that was made of metal, which they could separate with their bare hands. They were allegedly seen by a homeless man sleeping in the park," said the "Vijesti" reader.
In addition to the furniture being destroyed, graffiti was written in numerous places in the park.
The King's Park is one of the few, which until recently was spared from the destructive impulses of irresponsible citizens.
The gates of that park are locked at 22 p.m.
The destruction of park furniture and children's playgrounds is not a rare sight.
However, in fenced parks, with gates, such as Kraljevo and the one on Kruševac, which workers lock, there was almost no damage.
The King's Park was formed in 1910, in honor of the coronation of King Nikola, and renovated in 1954.
It was reconstructed and officially opened in September 2013.
One million euros was invested in its renovation, which was financed by the Government of Azerbaijan.
The park then received modern furniture, lighting, a large fountain, a chess gazebo and a children's playground.
In the park there are busts of Božidar Vuković Podgoričanin and the Azerbaijani poet Husein Džavid.
Numerous trees, bushes, low vegetation and flowers were also planted.
