The independent healthcare union announced today that it is going on strike, in accordance with the decision of the Main Board. The President of the Trade Union, Mihailo Babović, said that the warning strike starts today and that the representatives of all health centers, general hospitals, KCCG and Montefarm are behind this decision.
Babović said that the union is ready for a general strike if the authorities do not accept their demands for a 17 percent increase in the salaries of nurses and technicians.
He also said that on January 16 he will have a meeting with the Ministers of Health and Finance Vojislav Šimun and Novic Vuković and the Deputy Prime Minister for Labor, Education, Health and Social Policy Srđan Pavićević.
The General Secretary of the Federation of Trade Unions, Duško Zarubica, told the authorities not to test the strength of the trade unions and employees in healthcare.
He also pointed out that their colleagues from the Independent Healthcare Union have the full support of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Montenegro.
