During the works on Pera Ćetković Boulevard in Podgorica, 47 trees will be removed, which are located near the recycling yard in the Konik settlement. "Zelenil" has no answer about the planned felling.
The road construction project in the Podgorica settlement, as stated by the Agency for Construction and Development of Podgorica, envisages planting 51 new trees along the street.
At the end of last year, the agency announced a tender for the selection of the most favorable bidder who will build the continuation of Pero Ćetković Boulevard.
"We inform you that the continuation of Pero Ćetković Boulevard (Phase I) included the stretch from the end of the existing Boulevard to the recycling yard in the Konik settlement. The route of the Boulevard does not coincide with the position of the existing road, but covers the strip to the left of the existing road in the direction of the Konik settlement, where there are trees scheduled for removal, all in accordance with the current detailed urban plan 'Konik - Old Airport III. The Boulevard project and the tender specification also include works on landscaping, which relate to the planting of trees (51 saplings at least three meters high) and decorative bushy saplings", the Agency states in response to questions from "Vijesti" about the ongoing plan road reconstruction cuts 47 trees.
Pera Ćetković Boulevard begins at the roundabout in the Stari aerodrome neighborhood, near the "Lukoil" gas station.
During the last few years, the tenants of the buildings located along the Boulevard have planted a large number of trees and these trees have grown enough to provide shade in the spring, when they leaf out, and during the summer months. Those trees are also registered in the cadastre of green areas (kzp.podgorica.me).
After information was published about the public call for the selection of the most favorable bidder for the construction of the continuation of Pero Ćetković Boulevard, and that the works, among other things, foresee the cutting of 47 trees, tenants reacted on social networks, with the announcement of possible protests.
On Tuesday, the Agency for Construction and Development of Podgorica said that it is not planned to cut the trees that make up the tree line and that are in the cadastral records of the city's greenery.
The trees whose felling is planned are not in the greenery cadastre.
About the planned felling, the editorial team also asked "Zelenilo", but they referred to the authority that announced the tender.
"According to your question regarding the continuation of works on the construction of Pera Ćetković Boulevard, we inform you that 'Zelenilo' d.o.o. Podgorica does not have access to the project documentation, and therefore does not have the requested information," they told "Vijesta".
Investors, according to the Decision on the arrangement and maintenance of green areas of the Capital City, are obliged to ensure the transplanting of healthy trees or the planting of three new trees for every tree cut down.
"During the construction of residential and commercial buildings, traffic and communal infrastructure, which necessitates the removal of trees from public areas covered by the construction, the investor is obliged, when technically feasible, to ensure the transplantation of healthy trees or the planting of three new trees for each cut tree. Transplantation, removal or planting of new trees is carried out based on the approval of the administrative body responsible for communal affairs", the Decision states.
It is added that this approval... and according to the previously obtained opinion of "Zelenila", determines the number of trees that will be transplanted, removed or planted.
The public call for works on the continuation of Pero Ćetkovića Boulevard (phase I) was published on December 28, 2023, and bids are to be submitted until January 31 at 9.00:XNUMX a.m., when the bids are also scheduled to be opened.
The value of the works is 1,65 million euros without, or two million with VAT included.
The construction will be carried out according to the main project developed by the Podgorica company "Via project".
The tender for the road that will connect Konik and Stari Aerodrom was announced at the beginning of March, but the value was twice as low, i.e. one million euros including VAT.
The project, among other things, foresees separate paths for cyclists and pedestrians.
