Pljevlja: Higher prices for water, parking and garbage

The citizens of Pljevlja entered this year with new water prices, and soon, as announced, the prices of garbage collection and parking services will also be increased by the municipal company Čistoća.

In Čistoca, they said that they have not yet decided how much the price increase will be, but they said that it is inevitable that there will be an increase in prices.

The Regulatory Agency for Energy and Regulated Utilities, as well as members of the parliamentary majority in the local parliament, approved the new price list of the Water Supply Company.

Due to the complex way in which it is calculated, it is difficult to state the amount of the increase in the price of water, because it will depend on consumption, considering that there is a fixed and variable part on the bill, which depends on the final amount of the bill.

Vodovod has calculated that households that consume 10 cubic meters per month will receive a monthly bill of 9,88 euros including VAT, which is 3,54 euros or 55,91 percent more than the previous bill.

For the same amount of water, legal entities will pay 16,58 euros or 16,05 percent more than before.

Households that consume 30 cubic meters per month will receive a bill of 25,86, which is 76,17 percent higher than the current bill.

Legal entities for that amount of water will pay 44,42 euros or 26,87 percent more than before. The fixed part of the accounts will be reduced by 12,77 percent for households and will amount to 1,89 euros, and for legal entities 2,65 euros and will be less by 32 percent. Along with the water bills, the service of receiving and removing municipal waste water is shown.

Vodovod previously announced that the main reason for the increase in the prices of the variable part of the services is that there are no subsidies from the Municipality for the settlement of operating costs of the Vodovod for the year 2024.

Since January 1 last year, the citizens of Pljevlja have been paying for a cubic meter of water at a price that is reduced by ten percent compared to the December bill. , last year did not hold the session where consent was to be given to the new prices established by the Regulatory Agency.

The board of directors of Vodovod recently appointed Mladen Jaćimović, who has been working in the company since 2009, as acting executive director.

Jaćimović is for v. d. elected after the previous acting Biljana Đondović resigned.

After that, three members of the Board of Directors, Miroslav Anđelić, Rada Rovčanin and Ana Popadić, resigned, justifying it by the lack of support from the founders of the Municipality of Pljevlja to solve accumulated financial problems.

In the meantime, new members of the Board of Directors were elected. According to the coalition agreement, Vodovod belonged to Democratic Montenegro.

Vodovod Pljevlja is in an extremely bad financial situation with a debt of almost three million euros.

And the newly elected president of the Board of Directors of Vodovod, Goran Marić, said that without the support of the municipality, the company cannot just get out of the current situation.
