The Montenegro Pavilion of the fifth-year students of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Montenegro received the second prize at the International Horticultural Exhibition EXPO 2023 in Kahramanmaras, Turkey.
The exhibition lasted from October 15, 2023 to January 14 this year.
The University of Montenegro announced that it was the work of students Momcilo Hadži-Ristić, Edin Alihodžić, Boris Mandić and Drago Popović, under the mentorship of prof. Svetlane Perović, Ph.D., Sanje Savić, Ph.D. and Nevene Mašanović, Ph.D., in the subject Parterna architecture.
Dean of the Faculty of Architecture of UCG, prof. Dr. Svetlana Perović, the award was presented by the mayor of Kahramanmaras, Hanefi Mačiček, at the closing ceremony of the EXPO.
The first prize in the same category was won by the representatives of Zimbabwe, and the third by the Netherlands.
The Faculty of Architecture of the UCG, in cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism, represented Montenegro at the International Horticultural Exhibition EXPO 2023.
As part of the pavilion, a catalog with theoretical contributions of several authors and an exhibition of projects by 37 students on the topic "Biophilic (re)design", ecological-artistic project "Mental ecology" including small-format "Land art" and a short eco-art film "7" were presented. minutes of clear road", which was presented by visual artist Milena Živković.
Dean Perović pointed out that the EXPO in Turkey opened the door for new connections, projects and new experiences, and that the Faculty of Architecture is already preparing a project for Montenegro's participation in the EXPO in Nantes, which will be opened in May, in preparation for the Olympic Games. in Paris.
Perović thanked all the participants for their cooperation and especially the organizers in Turkey, who built the Montenegrin pavilion at their own expense.
