Brđanin: Future police officers face numerous challenges

Future police officers face numerous challenges, said the director of the Police Administration, Zoran Brađanin, and added that he believes they will overcome them with determination and resilience, regardless of possible pressures, and by adhering to the law.

The Police Academy announced that Brđanin, Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Anđela Jakšić Stojanović and State Secretary of the Ministry Dragana Babović visited the institution today on the occasion of the start of the 17th generation education.

Brđanin said that there are numerous challenges for the participants of the Police Academy, and for future officers.

"I want to believe that you will overcome them with determination and resilience, regardless of possible pressures, and by sticking to the law as your defense and the defense of those who count on you," said Brđanin.

As he pointed out, such an approach, based on the best principles of police doctrine and its human dimension, will strengthen trust in the police and protect the dignity of the police profession.

"And as a result, it will represent a solid pillar of the functional rule of law," added Brđanin.

Director of the Police Academy, Vladimir Stanišić, welcomed the future police officers.

"Your decision to join the 17th generation of the Police Academy testifies to your courage, dedication and desire to serve your community," Stanišić said.

He said that this moment is significant, because it represents the beginning of an intensive, but extremely important part of education and training.

"It is up to you to accept challenges, to learn, grow and build the foundations for a successful career in the police service," Stanišić pointed out.

Jakšić Stojanović said that she is proud of the number of girls who fill the ranks of the police service.

"I expect you not only to enforce the laws of this country, but also to show the humane dimension of this call. By respecting the laws of this country, you are actually protecting the freedom and safety of every citizen," said Jakšić Stojanović.

The Police Academy announced that, after the address, a working meeting was held between Jakšić Stojanović, Babović and Brđanina with Stanišić and his associates.

At the meeting, as stated, concrete steps were agreed that will help the Police Academy, and thus the Police Directorate and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, to solve the challenges in functioning and speed up the process of replacing the missing police personnel.
