We plan to acquire six more machines for waste removal in the next few months, announced Luka Rakčević, Deputy Mayor of Podgorica Olivera Injac.
It was announced from the capital that Rakčević visited the city company "Čistoća" where, in a conversation with the director Denis Hota and his associates, he noted a significant improvement in the state of the company over the past few months.
Rakčević pointed out that the new management of "Čistoće" has implemented important projects, and that he believes that the results of their work will be visible.
"I want to congratulate all the people in this company, first of all the director Denis Hot and his team for the great results they managed to achieve in a very short period of time. All the more so since at the end of June last year they found the company in a complete collapse without adequate mechanization of everything five or six functional trucks - garbage trucks, with only a few spare containers in stock and numerous other financial and formal-legal problems. Already today, in January 2024, some six months after the takeover of 'Čistoća', we are witnessing a completely different picture and situation where we have over 15 fully functional machines for waste removal and six more that we plan to acquire in the next few months, with a number of containers that are in stock and we are fully prepared for that more dynamic part of the year, so that Podgorica will really be and remain clean, which it deserves Rakčević said
He added that the capital will do everything it can to financially and in all other ways help "Cistoca" in order to overcome all problems and become a respectable company, which will work diligently to the satisfaction of all the citizens of Podgorica.
Hot said that they are grateful to the Capital City for their support and that they are glad that they had the opportunity to see the condition of the new fleet on the ground, which, he added, is much better today compared to what they found.
"In the coming period, significant investments are planned in the acquisition of new vehicles that will enable the optimal operation of the city's 'Cleanliness'", said Hot and called on citizens to properly dispose of waste, in order to work together to preserve the environment, improve the level of hygiene in Podgorica, but at the same time they helped the workers in the field.
In the announcement of the Capital City, it is stated that the Secretary of the Secretariat for Communal Affairs Andrija Babović expressed his satisfaction that "Čistoća" achieved significant progress in a short period of time.
"He especially praised the work of operatives in the field who face a large volume of work every day and appealed to the citizens to help operative Čistoće by disposing of waste in the prescribed manner. Babović praised the activities of this company in the procurement of recycling machines that will soon be installed in all parts of the city", the announcement concludes.
Rakčević: Gradsko Zelenilo achieved excellent results in just half a year
Rakčević announced that the city's "Zelenilo" achieved excellent results in just half a year, both in terms of financial management and on the field.
As it was reported from the capital, he said this during a tour of this company and talks with the new management, convinced that he will continue to work for the benefit of the citizens of Podgorica in the coming period.
"Since the new management took over this company at the beginning of July last year and found only 50.000 euros in the account and 100.000 euros of unpaid claims, today we have a completely opposite situation, that we have even half a million euros of our funds in the accounts of this company, that we have 0 euros of debts, that in the meantime, we significantly increased the salaries of all employees through the implementation of the branch collective agreement for housing and communal services. In addition, Zelenila's teams are actively working on greening all parts of the city, solar panels were installed on the roofs of the administration building and other buildings of Zelenila, and procurement was also carried out the first electric vehicles," said Rakčević.
He added that the support of the Capital City will be even more intense in the coming period, that the funds in 2024 for the expansion of green areas and the construction of new parks have been doubled compared to the record year 2023, and that the citizens of Podgorica will have something to look forward to.
