Unscrupulous locals almost set fire to the premises of the company "Swisslion Takovo" in Donji Kokoti today, and firefighters prevented them from burning.
As pointed out by the head of the Protection and Rescue Service, Andrija Čađenović, the citizens caused a couple of fires on their own initiative, one of which spread to the warehouse and partially engulfed the walls, but the quick intervention of the firefighters prevented major material damage.
"Our team went to Donje Kokote at the request of a citizen to be on duty at a controlled burning. After the end of the intervention, the citizens, seeing that the fire truck was present on the ground, started several fires, i.e. set grass and low vegetation on fire in several locations," said Čađenović.
He appealed to citizens to promptly implement preventive measures at their residential, business and other facilities and thus eliminate the risk of fire spreading to property.
Large fires are active in the towns of Trmanje and Radovče, the hamlet of Ubline, and the firefighters' priority is to save houses and properties.
"On Trmanje, the tall forest and vegetation were affected by the fire, while the area around the houses is successfully controlled for now and in cooperation with the helicopter unit of the Directorate for Emergency Situations. "We are trying to save houses and properties and eventually put out the fire completely," said Čađenović.
