The seismology department of the Institute for Hydrometeorology and Seismology registered a minor earthquake at 19.54:XNUMX, with an epicenter five kilometers west of Podhum, in the municipality of Tuzi.
The strength of the earthquake in the focus was 3.2 units on the Richter scale, which corresponds to the epicentral intensity of degree IV of the Mercalli scale (MCS).
According to preliminary processing data, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 24 kilometers.
"Based on the theoretical model of the macroseismic field of this region, the magnitude of the earthquake and the depth of the hypocenter, this earthquake could not cause material damage in the epicentral area," the Institute announced.
The European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) previously announced that an earthquake measuring 2,8 on the Richter scale was recorded at 19.54:XNUMX p.m., ten kilometers southeast of Podgorica.
