Today, the Association of Parents appealed to Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, President of the Education Union Radomir Božović and Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Anđela Jakšić Stojanović to take into account the interests of children in Montenegro in the current negotiations on the salaries of educators.
In the letter, as it was announced, they conveyed "the views of parents who are very revolted by the announcements that they will go on strike in such a way that teaching, that is, direct work with children, will not be carried out".
"We are sure that there is no need to remind you how much and how much children have lost in the educational process in recent years, especially since the emergence of the corona virus, and that it is unacceptable that these disagreements between the Union and the Government are now happening 'behind their backs'," he writes. in the memo.
In the association Parents, they believe that no more days of the school calendar should be allowed to be lost, as well as compensation on Saturdays.
"In addition to the fact that children, neither guilty nor obligated, would make up for lessons that someone would again 'take away' from them against their will, we also remind you that the lessons are mostly not compensation in the true sense of the word because they usually turn into trips, video days, cross country events, competitions and the like... Every now and then there is talk about too much material that teachers can't manage to teach, and situations like this only worsen the current situation, which, when it comes to education in our country, is truly devastating," the association states.
They reminded that because of this, these negotiations "have additional weight" and that the Government and the Trade Union keep in mind that "extremes and fights must not be an option", because decisions are made about children.
"Parents are also witnesses that all segments of the educational process and education system are not in an enviable situation and are crying out for improvement. That is why it is important to find a model that will work comprehensively and, apart from the part related to the economic status of educators, also include improvements in the quality of work. it is extremely important that, in accordance with that, the Government finally assigns a special status to education and pays due attention to it," the Parents association states.
