Bar General Hospital "Blažo Orlandić" does not have a doctor specializing in rheumatology, and the Rulebook on Internal Organization and Systematization of Jobs does not systematize the position of rheumatologist.
This was confirmed by the director of the Bar hospital, Dr. Igor Karišik, to "Vijesti".
The editors of "Vijesti" addressed Barana, claiming that the fact that the hospital in Bar does not have a rheumatologist affects their state of health.
"I have a bone disease that requires monitoring of the condition with scans, and based on that I receive different therapy. I've been drinking the same one for almost two years now because there's no one or anything to record me. At the Health Center they told me that they didn't know what to do except to go to the Clinical Center of Montenegro, and at the hospital they told me that the rheumatologist had to give me a referral for imaging at KCCG, and there was no rheumatologist, so I continued to drink the same one." said VB, a sixty-year-old woman from Bar.
That public institution has not had a rheumatologist since the end of 2021, when, as Karisik said, the hired doctor gave up.
"The rheumatology specialist was engaged under a contract for additional work for patients from the municipalities of Bar and Ulcinj until December 31, 2021, when he resigned for personal reasons," said Karisik.
Karisik said that the Bar hospital is in the process of negotiations with KCCG in order to approve the engagement of doctors through a contract on additional work.
Some Barani with whom the journalist spoke said that, by force of circumstances, they sought rheumatology services in private clinics in Podgorica and finished everything quickly.
When asked by "Vijesti" how the Bar hospital treats patients who need the services of a rheumatologist, Karišik replied that they are referred to the KCCG.
