The Cultural Center for the Far East was opened today at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Montenegro (UCG) in Nikšić, thanks to a donation of over 200.000 euros by the Government of the Republic of (South) Korea.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MPNI) said that the Center was opened by the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Anđela Jakšić Stojanović, and the Ambassador of South Korea, E. Jeung Lee.
"The application for the project 'Cultural Center for the Far East' was prepared by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, in accordance with the rules of the Competition for applying projects within the ODA program of the Government of the Republic of Korea, published by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea. The project was approved for financing, and The donation agreement was signed between the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea," stated the MPNI statement.
Jakšić Stojanović said that this is the right place to promote not only the history, culture, art and tradition of the Far East, but also the promotion of scholarships, scientific research and innovation grants and other forms of cooperation between Montenegro and the countries of the Far East.
"I am sure that this very place will be a center of cultural events and a gathering place for young people not only from the Faculty of Philosophy and Philology, but also from all over Montenegro and that it will give a completely new value to the educational process at the University of Montenegro," announced Jakšić. Djeung Lee said that the Embassy of Korea is proud to donate electronic and audio equipment, vehicles and furniture to support the establishment of the Far East Cultural Center in Nikšić.
"I hope that this center will become a place for mutual cultural understanding between Korea and Montenegro," said Jeung Lee.
