The tourist organization of Kotor announced that one of the cats in the Old Town was shot three times by an air rifle.
They say they paid the vet for the surgery and the cat is stable, saying they hope for a full recovery.
"In this way, the perpetrator endangered both animals in our city and passers-by. We are used to cases of vandalism and destruction of city property, furniture and pollution of our environment, by improperly leaving waste on city and sea surfaces, and this kind of case shocked us even more. very saddened and disturbed", according to TO Kotor's post on Facebook.
They said that they hope that the competent services, with the help of cameras, will be able to find the perpetrator as soon as possible and "adequately punish him for an act that deserves the utmost condemnation and contempt".
"We owe our gratitude to our conscientious fellow citizens, Danijela Knežević and Ivana Krivokapić, for their quick and efficient reaction, and we hereby appeal to everyone, if they ever witness such or similar criminal acts, to be responsible and inform the competent authorities so that the perpetrators are adequately and promptly punished and such unpleasant events have come to an end," it concludes.
