Investors who build their facilities next to the main highway are illegally and unlawfully occupying pedestrian sidewalks next to the main highway in the industrial zone in Bijelo Polje.
This is claimed by the non-governmental organization (NGO) "Euromost" and they state that it is a plot of land 264 KO Nedakusa, owned by the Government of Montenegro, which is located next to the highway itself, as can be seen on the Geoportal sketch.
"That individuals are stronger than the state and state and local institutions is also shown by the occupation of state property used by pedestrians, next to the main highway. The photos from that place show that the entire area up to the highway has been occupied and that it has merged with the area of the facility, which are there finds. You can also see a contractor carrying out work with machines," Euromost announced.
The NGO said that they informed the Bijelo Polje communal police and the secretariat for inspection affairs of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, sent them photos, but claim that neither of them showed up on the spot.
They also state that they notified the Bijelo Polje Security Center and reported that a criminal offense under the Criminal Code of Montenegro was being committed - illegal seizure of state property, where after that the economic crime inspector appeared and conducted an investigation.
"Euromost" also said that they informed the state inspections, as well as the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urban Planning and State Property.
"The day after we informed all authorities, the investor continued with the works and showed that he is stronger than the state and state institutions and that apparently no one can do anything to him, that he can also appropriate state property," they said from "Euromost".
They called on the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property to prevent massive "decade-long looting of state property in Bijelo Polje and illegal and illegal construction". "Also, in Bijelo Polje pedestrians no longer have a place to cross, citizens have only to go on the main highway, and for this reason accidents happen every day," Euromost said.
