By blocking the road Mateševo - Andrijevica via Trešnjevik, the residents of several Potkomovo villages will express their dissatisfaction with the state of that road, or, as they say, the continued carelessness of the authorities, on Sunday at noon.
On February 9, the presidents of these four local communities from the territory of the Kolasin and Andrijevic municipalities sent the Traffic Administration and the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs a request for the urgent reconstruction of the regional road, which they say is in a catastrophic condition. They remind that they addressed the authorities with a similar request last year.
"That request was only partially granted. A total of about three kilometers of roads were covered with asphalt in the territory of the Kraljske Bara municipality. The gutters and canals remain untreated, which causes water to spill over the asphalt. Because of this, ice deposits are formed and cause great damage to the asphalt. That road, especially from Kraljske Bar to Trešnjevik, is now in a much worse condition than a year ago. This applies to the entire section, excluding the three kilometers asphalted last year," Milovan Labović, president of the Municipal Council of Kraljske Bara, told "Vijesta".
He reminds that they previously pointed out to the Government the problem of overloading that road. As he claims, "the forest concessionaires, who use that road, load 45 to 50 cubic meters of wood with their trucks and trailers without any responsibility, causing additional damage to the road due to the illegal load". During the past months, the locals explain, there was additional damage, especially in the part of the Trešnjevik pass.
"Even these days, trucks with forest timber occasionally pass by, which due to the formed ice on the asphalt surface conditions the use of chains, which further permanently damages the road. All this points to the necessity of reconstructing that road in its entire length", informed the relevant ministry and the Administration two weeks ago from the villages of Potokomovo.
The request to the authorities that the road be reconstructed as soon as possible was signed, in addition to Labović, by the presidents of MZ Kralje Igor Čirović, MZ Vranještica Radosav Šukić and MZ Sjenožeta - Gnjili Potok Danilo Ivanović.
The road through Trešnjevik is the fastest way for the people of Andrijev to reach Mateševo, that is, the highway. It is the connection between the Kolašin municipality and the Komovi Nature Park.
In the request to the relevant ministry, the presidents of these four MZs explained that they do not have any official information regarding plans to continue the construction of the highway from Mateševo to Andrijevica.
"Not disputing the public interest regarding the continuation of the construction of the highway, the locals ask if they are part of that public interest and if they are (and they are) why is there no information from the Government regarding the local population of these Potkomovo villages, but they find out from the media. "Why is the old practice of official institutions persistently continuing when it comes to public hearings, which are conducted mostly without the presence of interested citizens, especially the local population, who are vitally interested in all the details related to that project", asked representatives of the Ministry of Health.
They claim that the locals "were not given access to the study of the conceptual design of the highway, corridor or direction, so that they could know in time what exactly awaits them with the continuation of construction." They also say that there was no "serious communication between the competent institutions and the local population, in order to disclose the details of that important project".
"In October 2022, the residents of Kraljski Bar were contacted by phone by Dr. Ksenija Petovar, who was hired by the European Development Bank, and who worked on the study of the impact of the social aspect of the construction of the highway on the local population. The arrival on the field was announced, but it did not happen. We were informed by Petovar that the Government was obliged to form an appeals commission to which the locals could turn for all the necessary information. Until today, we have not been able to get information on whether the mentioned commission exists and whether its work has started", wrote the villages of Potkomovo to the relevant ministry.
They also explain that they have no feedback on whether the Study has been completed and to what extent the suggestions of the locals have been included in that document.
