As soon as possible to start the reconstruction of the regional road Mateševo - Andrijevica, via Trešnjevik, is the basic request addressed to the Government, that is, to the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs and the Traffic Administration from today's protest gathering of residents of several Potokomov villages on the territory of the Kolaš municipality.
Representatives of the local communities (MZ) of Kraljske Bara, Vranještica and Gnjili Potok at noon blocked the beginning of that road, which, they claim, is in extremely bad condition, and is currently "the most convenient connection of the northern part with the road".
"In addition to starting the reconstruction of the entire length of the road as soon as possible, we request that the local population be given access to the documentation related to the project for the continuation of the construction of the Mateševo - Andrijevica highway section. We also demand that, by the end of the next working week at the latest, a meeting of local representatives with to the representatives of the Ministry and the Administration or that their representatives, together with the mixed people, go around the road and draw joint conclusions", said Milovan Labović, president of the Ministry of Health of Kraljska Bara, from the protest.
The President of the Ministry of Health announced that, if the authorities do not fulfill their demands, the locals are ready for longer and more intense blockades.
According to Labović, the intensity of traffic on that road has increased tenfold over the past two years. The Municipalities of Kraljske Bare, Vranještica and Mateševo have repeatedly, starting in 2019, addressed requests to the Government and relevant ministries and warned about the necessity of maintaining that road.
"Since 2021, we have addressed the same addresses and asked for the reconstruction of the road. If they had listened to us, there would be no reason to block traffic today, and the road would be in much better condition and would be a relief, not only for the residents of these areas, but and for the entire north. As you know, these days the main road from Ribarevin to Beran is being reconstructed, the Berane - Lubnica - Kolašin road has not yet been opened, so this is, in a way, the shortest connection and for connecting with the road," he explained Labovic.
As he said, every day loaded trucks from forest concessionaires pass through that regional road, which is in a worse state every day and further devastate the road. New damage to the asphalt appears every day, and according to the locals, the road is still usable only thanks to the relatively good weather. They warn that, if something is not done as soon as possible, the rainfall will cause new damage, which could lead to road closures.
Locals from the protest called on the representatives of the state government to "fulfill the promises made before the elections".
"Anxiety forced us to block traffic today. First, I call on those we voted for to come to us now, not just before the elections, to promise us golden hills and valleys. Finally, the representatives of the government should move from words to deeds and start working on improving the conditions of us who live in the north. I don't see any "step forward" in that sense. The road from Mateševo to Andrijevica is a mockery, there is no road, there is no constant care...", said Darka Martinović, a resident of Kraljski Bar. .
According to the president of the Ministry of Health of Vranještica, Radosav Raj Đukić, the road through Trešnjevik is "shorter than the highway" for a large part of the inhabitants of the north. He reminded that many residents of Potokomov villages in Kolasin municipality have properties on the territory of Andrijevac municipality.
It was announced from the protest that the people of Andrijev will block the roads tomorrow and send similar demands when it comes to the reconstruction of the road through Trešnjevik. Allegedly, the protest in Andrijevica was organized with the support of the local administration there, and will be held next to the former Soko Štarka plant.
