Member of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Mihailo Andušić said that Miodrag Laković, Member of the Movement for Europe, "sometimes seems to forget" where he was for 15 years.
"A long-time police official from the time of the DPS rule felt the urgent need to deal with free speech. I think it would be better if, as a legalist, he announced the illegal procedures surrounding the election of the acting director of the Police Directorate or one of the scandals that it was loud and silent for days. I guess one should always fight equally for respect for the law and free speech? However, Mišo sometimes seems to forget where he was for 15 years," Andjušić wrote on the social network Iks.
Laković said yesterday that everyone should stand up for free speech and democratic values "always and everywhere", and that this also applies to "those under whose authority the institutions arrested and persecuted people because of one ugly word on social networks". "I believe that today they realize how wrong it was to keep quiet about it then," said Laković.
On that occasion, he referred to the statement of DPS president Danijel Živković that, "when institutions persecute free speech", it is expected that it will also be persecuted on the street. Živković said this on the occasion of the burning of a doll symbolizing the writer and columnist Andrej Nikolaidis at the carnival in Herceg Novi.
