During the educators' strike last month, teachers experienced a large lynching by a section of the public, especially parents.
This was announced by the president of the Youth Network, Ivana Šćepanović, during the round table "A teacher between the classroom, family and society - challenges, dreams and commitment".
She pointed out that there are fewer and fewer young people who "decide to become teachers".
"For the last four, five years, we have seen that this profession is not attractive for young people. Unfortunately, the teaching profession is not attractive even for parents who have an influence on their children," Šćepanović said.
She said that the socio-economic status of educators is also problematic.
"Violence against teachers is frequent, which affects the very reputation of teachers. We constantly have some reforms in education that we don't know if they have brought us any benefits," Šćepanović said, adding that there is a noticeable deficit of natural science teachers.
She pointed out that during the strike, the teachers experienced the lynching of "a part of the public, especially parents".
Slavka Bošković, vice president of the Education Union, said that only a good person can be a teacher and impart quality knowledge to his students, and everyone's mission is to make our education system as good as possible.
She said that "we must all fight together for the dignity of every working woman in Montenegro".
"Only a good man can pass on knowledge to students. I have never regretted it. It was a time that had its own fashionable quality," said Bošković.
The President of the Education Union, Radomir Božović, said that "the goal and mission is to make the education system as good as possible".
As he says, the teacher must be motivated for that to happen.
"In our country, the state of education is such that this profession is becoming predominantly female. Within the Union, we have a Women and Youth Section. Last year, the union held a number of similar events. We conducted research on violence against female teachers at school," said Božović.
He reminded that the situation in the educational system of Montenegro is not very good.
"Unfortunately, we had to go on strike. I would not like to be reminded of that now. Those were not days when we were happy. They were days of sleeplessness," said Božović.
Fashion designer Milena Đurđić said that "the topic of clothing culture should be deepened".
"We see that our students have the wrong role models today," said Đurđić.
She emphasized that professors must be "decent and appropriately dressed", because they set an example for students.
