The Committee for Planning, Landscaping and Housing and Communal Activities held a Board session where the opinions of the Secretariat for Construction and the Secretariat for Planning and Landscaping were considered in relation to the Initiative submitted by the citizens of Bijelo Polje regarding the construction of the Hadžidanuša Mosque, the Municipality announced. The session was attended by Elvir Zvrko, chairman of the Board and members: Ernad Suljević, Jasmila Hot and Radovan Rakočević. The session was also attended by the Secretary of the Secretariat for Construction Mensur Hajdarpašić and the Secretary of the Secretariat for Planning and Spatial Planning Haris Šahman, as well as representatives of the citizens' initiative applicant Adnan Ademović and Emir Matović.
"Representatives of the Secretariat gave an opinion from the area of their competence, which related to the current possibilities related to the spatial plan and the legal regulation that regulates the valorization of the cultural remains of the Hadži-Danuša mosque. It was confirmed that the Municipality has sensibility towards the initiative in question because it is about the remains of a religious building and in in this direction, it undertook a series of activities in order to protect them from further deterioration and destruction due to natural and human factors," the announcement states.
As a contribution to all this, the municipality points out, the Bijelo Polje Municipal Assembly will organize an international scientific symposium at the end of March, where scientists from Montenegro and the region, as well as interested representatives of citizens, will have the opportunity to participate in the discussion on the valorization of cultural property as the most significant contribution to the culture of the place and time with reference to the valorization of the remains of the Hadži-Danuš Hanuman mosque.
"During the Board session, a constructive dialogue was held without politicizing this topic. The conclusion is that activities should be continued in order to create conditions for the complete valorization of the area where the remains of the mosque are located," they conclude in the announcement.
