A series of weaker earthquakes followed the strong earthquake

After the 5,4 magnitude earthquake that shook the territory of Montenegro in four hours and six minutes, a series of weaker earthquakes followed.

Seismologist Srđan Ceković from the Institute for Hydrometeorology and Seismology (ZHMS) told the RTCG portal that after the main earthquake, another 30 earthquakes followed.

According to data from the ZHMS website, ten minutes after the first earthquake, another one occurred, measuring 3,2 on the Richter scale.

Even after that, the ground didn't calm down until a series of more than 15 earthquakes followed from 4.20:6.30 a.m. to 2:3 a.m. with a magnitude of XNUMX to XNUMX on the Richter scale.

According to the same data, at 6.38:3,3 an earthquake of magnitude XNUMX followed, followed by another series of weaker earthquakes.

All those registered were registered in the same epicentral area, about 30 kilometers from Nikšić in the direction of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

ZHMS announced that an earthquake of magnitude 5,4 on the Richter scale could have caused some material damage in the epicentral area.
