By the end of the month, projects for the construction of a modern Sports and Recreational Park and a trim track around the Trebjese Forest Park in Nikšić, worth around two million euros, will be completed.
"The preparation of project documentation for these two projects is underway. First, the tender for the trim track will be announced, because that part is practically ready. The surface covered by the Sports and Recreational Park is 40.000 square meters, while the length of the trim track is 4,3 kilometers. The total investment is around two million euros, and the funds are provided in the capital budget of the state", Ana Vukotić, director of the Designing and Planning Agency, which is in charge of developing the mentioned projects, told "Vijesta".
According to Dejan Ivanović, secretary of the Secretariat for Culture, Sports, Youth and Social Welfare, across the street from the monument under Trebjes, in the area where there is already a soccer field, there are facilities for all generations, as well as a large number of sports activities.
"In addition to the already existing football field, we will also build fields for indoor football, basketball, handball and volleyball, as well as an outdoor gym. We will also build a unique children's playground, and those fellow citizens who just want to rest in the green oases that will shape our park will not be neglected either. As for the trim track, it will be done according to the highest standards", Ivanović promises and adds that the Sports and Recreational Park will be unique in the country.
Ana Vukotić explains that the trim track is planned on a track that is already used for running, that it will be partially made of tartan, and that lighting will be installed.
"Areas for exercising in nature are planned along the track. I have to emphasize that there is no such, comprehensive, type of park in Montenegro, which says a lot about the fact that our municipality seriously thinks about the different needs of our citizens", she pointed out.
The President of the Municipality of Nikšić, Marko Kovačević, reminds that staying in the park-forest of Trebjesa, for the purpose of training and sports recreation, is something that is characteristic of Nikšić.
"The trim track and the sports and recreation park that is planned represent help to our fellow citizens who have been using the area of Trebjesa and around Trebjesa for decades. We are constantly listening to the needs of citizens and especially want to improve those traditions that, despite the bad conditions, have survived to this day", said Kovačević and praised the Agency, which, as he said, was very up-to-date in the preparation of project documentation.
After the completion of the project, it is planned to announce the tender.
"If everything goes according to plan, the construction of the park should start at the beginning of September of the current year," said Dejan Ivanovic.
