The Presidency of the Socialist People's Party (SNP) announced today that the director of Montefarm, Goran Marinović, has been dismissed and that they are asking the Minister of Health, Vojislav Šimun, to reconsider that decision.
It was unofficially reported to "Vijesti" that Šimun did not dismiss Marinović, but sent him a report on the inspection made by the commission of the Ministry of Health.
The SNP, however, claim otherwise and say that it is an attack on that political party.
"The Presidency of the SNP of Montenegro demands from Mr. Šimun, the Minister of Health, to reconsider the decision to dismiss the director of Montefarma, who we responsibly claim stopped a large number of illegal activities and significantly increased the profit of that state-owned company, of which there is irrefutable evidence. ", it was announced.
They say that they did not agree with the dismissal of the director of the Clinical Center of Montenegro, Ljiljana Radulović, and the medical director of that institution, Zoran Terzić.
"We have a justified fear that certain officials from the PES are trying to 'backdoor' the DPS cadres that we successfully disempowered after many years. These requests of ours not to replace the mentioned people have not been respected, therefore we once again appeal to the minister to reconsider his decisions, otherwise we will be forced to open the issue of his position as Minister of Health in the reconstruction of the Government that will follow, with other colleagues and partners in the Government of Montenegro," the SNP statement said.
They pointed out that as "a serious and credible coalition partner, they will not allow actions and moves that are intended to harm the Montenegrin public and citizens through the selection of inadequate personnel in the most responsible positions".
"We believe that this is not only an attack on the aforementioned people, but also on the Socialist People's Party as a whole, which made a very significant contribution to the democratic changes in Montenegro," the SNP emphasized.
Šimun previously announced that the working groups of that department will analyze in detail the work of each health institution and director, and that decisions on possible dismissals will be made based on the factual, established situation.
