Mojkovac and Novi Pazar will soon receive 2.000 bins for separating packaging waste and a press for waste that is recycled, in order to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in local landfills.
Environmental protection measures were supported by the European Union.
As announced by the Municipality of Mojkovac, in addition to the exchange of experience and knowledge with other municipalities, the benefits of the project are 500 trash cans intended for that city, then a horizontal press, which will enable the recycling center to be turned into a recycling yard, thereby also separating primary and secondary waste. .
The project, with the support of the European Union, is being implemented in partnership with the Center for Ecotoxicological Testing, the Municipality of Mojkovac and PUK Gradska čistoća Novi Pazar, and work will be done on improving the system in the municipalities of Kolašin, Bijelo Polje and Tutin. All local governments will receive expert support in developing waste management plans that they are required to have, a roadmap for the circular economy and action measures for public utility companies. The focus will also be on campaigns to raise awareness among citizens about the proper separation of waste in households.
In recent days, training sessions were held in Mojkovac for representatives of local self-governments and public utility companies from five municipalities, the aim of which was to improve skills in the field of waste management.
