President of the Municipality of Pljevlja Dario Vranes will sign the Charter on twinning and establishment of permanent cooperation with the Serbian city of Užice.
In the letter that Vraneš addressed to the mayor of Užice Jelena Raković Radivojević, it is stated that "the north of Montenegro and the Zlatibor region shared a similar fate for centuries, so regardless of their enormous natural and human resources, they lagged behind in development".
"It is time to overcome this, one could say historical injustice, each in our own way, and much easier together, developing mutual cooperation in all fields from sports, culture, trade to production and cooperation of our largest economic entities. Bearing in mind the economic opportunities and natural and human potential, there are few cities that, with mutual goodwill, can very quickly realize significant benefits from economic cooperation, as well as cooperation in the fields of sports, culture, art and social development in general. Madam Mayor, I take the liberty of proposing to you that our two cities undertake activities aimed at twinning, and it is up to us, as leaders of our communities, to initiate this initiative by implementing the idea of twinned Užice and Pljevlja and its adoption by the competent authorities of our cities. conditions would be created for launching numerous joint projects from all areas of social and economic life, and the citizens of our two cities would also confirm official friendship and brotherhood, which has been going on since the time of Nemanjić, Lazarević, Altomanović and Vojinović," stated Vraneš in a letter addressed to the mayors of Užice.
The Assembly of the city of Užice at the session held on February 29 accepted the proposal and made a decision on the establishment of cooperation between the city of Užice and the Municipality of Pljevlja.
