Protecting the environment and preserving the natural treasures of our country must be imperative for all social factors in the country, in order to leave a healthy and rich Montenegro to future generations, it was said at the meeting of the President of the State Jakov Milatović and environmental activists, which was held on the occasion of the International Water Day and the International day forest.
Milatović pointed out that the issue of environmental protection is one of the priorities of his actions, adding that although the state expresses awareness of the environment, natural and cultural resources through its constitutional determination, our society in previous decades did not reflect such an image.
He emphasized that this idea was not fully realized due to lack of care for the environment, constant and intense devastation of space, unregulated waste problem, non-compliance with the law and lack of sanctions, and added that in the past the issue of environmental protection was an issue that was only declaratively paid attention to. .
"In this sense, he pointed out that days like this are a good reminder of the importance of the resources that nature has given us, adding that their sustainable management is one of the main priorities on our way," the president's office announced.
Representatives of organizations dealing with environmental protection and ecological activists expressed their satisfaction with the fact that they are meeting with the President of the country for the first time, in order to introduce him to the challenges they face in their work, and to present the future key goals of their activities .
"At the end, Milatović told them that in the institution of the President, they will have a partner and support for all good initiatives that will contribute to the preservation of the environment and the protection of our natural resources," the announcement concludes.
