The non-governmental organization "Euromost" announced that a group of Rožaje citizens blocked the Rožaje - Špijani road today, demanding that the Mostina landfill be moved.
"Euromost", which says it gives them full support, states that the protesting citizens demand from the authorities to urgently solve the problem of the landfill, which, as they point out, "has been endangering the health of people living in the surrounding villages for decades".
That NGO tells the Minister of Tourism, Ecology, Sustainable Development and Development of the North, Vladimir Martinović, who, as they said, "is silent on all the problems faced by citizens in the North when it comes to illegal landfills, the destruction of rivers and river courses, forests and roads". that "they will face daily blockades in the municipalities in the north of Montenegro, in accordance with the Law on Peaceful Assembly, if they continue to ignore the northern region, like their predecessors".
"Euromost" invited him to "come and see all the problems and see for himself what kind of environmental problems the citizens in the north are facing", but they also told him that they will soon organize blockades of all temporary landfills in the municipalities in the north with the citizens , "if the regional landfill is not resolved and all existing ones are closed that operate without any permit and consent of the Environmental Protection Agency, in violation of the Law on Waste Management".
That NGO, as they stated, also gives full support to the "initiative of the local communities of the Municipality of Berana, on the adoption of a decree on the permanent protection of the Lim River", and at the same time they invited all citizens and civic initiatives from the north to join and "point out all environmental problems". which they encounter.
