Representatives of the Montenegrin Academy of Science and Art (CANU) and the Electric Industry of Montenegro (EPCG) signed a contract on a donation of 15 thousand euros, which, within the Center for Energy and Ecology (ENEKO), foresees the implementation of the project Application of artificial intelligence in the prediction of consumption in power systems .
The contract was signed by the president of CANU academician Dragan K. Vukčević and the executive director of EPCG Ivan Bulatović.
Vukčević reminded him that a few months ago, representatives of the energy companies EPCG, the Montenegrin Electric Transmission System (CGES) and the Montenegrin Electric Distribution System (CEDIS) signed a Cooperation Agreement, under which the ENEKO Center has already started implementing projects in the field of energy.
"I am glad that we found understanding for the projects we are launching. I hope that these projects are something that will improve the work at EPCG, but also that they will be of great benefit to the citizens of Montenegro, i.e. consumers. Part of the realization of that Agreement is the Agreement we are signing today. I hope that you will get a reliable partner in CANU, in the ENEKO Center and the Department of Natural Sciences of CANU through meetings, forums and projects", said Vukčević, as reported by the PR Center.
He reminded that yesterday they signed the Cooperation Agreement with the Ministry of Energy and Mining, which, as he pointed out, agreed on cooperation on important projects that also concern EPCG.
"It is good that the Government of Montenegro, through the relevant Ministry, has a very positive attitude towards this cooperation of ours, about which we informed the minister", said Vukčević.
EPCG Executive Director Ivan Bulatović believes that the company's donation goes into the right hands, supporting the umbrella institution of science in Montenegro.
"I am counting on your support during the demanding investment plan that we have foreseen in the upcoming period. Through the ENEKO center, which primarily deals with energy and ecology, I think there is a lot of room for cooperation in terms of the realization of those projects," said Bulatović.
He assessed that there is room for cooperation with the ENEKO Center, not only in the areas that have been identified, but also in other projects.
The head of the ENEKO center, Igor Đurović, said that the EPCG donation will be allocated to the project of a young researcher who will deal with the issue in question as part of his master's studies from the University of Montenegro, PR Center reports.
"Such research has been done in the world before. Today, we have the possibility, based on the tools of artificial intelligence and machine learning, to have a greater scope of data and to obtain more precise data", stated Đurović.
He said that they expect further cooperation with EPCG in providing the necessary data in order to more successfully implement the project.
