Thanks to the non-governmental association "Impuls" from Nikšić and the Center for Support of Local and Regional Development from Herceg Novi, 15 professional workers who are employed in social work centers and service providers dealing with the protection of children without adequate parental care will have the opportunity to complete the program foster care training.

These non-governmental organizations will implement the training in the period from April 25 to May 31, 2024, through four modules, and the first will be organized on April 25 and 26 in Podgorica.

The training program is accredited by the Institute for Social and Child Protection, and the training is organized as part of the project "Every child is important - support for foster families, children in foster families and families at risk in Nikšić and Herceg Novi" implemented by the mentioned non-governmental associations.

"The general goal of the training program is to ensure the quality of protection of children without adequate parental care. After completing the training program, participants will be able to know the responsibilities and roles of foster parents, understand family relationships and crises in the family system, know the developmental stages as well as the needs of children, understand how upbringing and the relationship of foster parents towards children affects their development, integrate theoretical knowledge with practical skills and independently lead workshops for foster parents," said Violeta Mrkić, project coordinator.

Through the training, the participants will improve their professional-methodological skills and knowledge, and the ultimate beneficiaries of the training program are children without adequate parental care, as well as potential foster parents.

Due to the limited number of places, registration of participants will be conducted according to the order of application, and priority will be given to professional workers who in their daily work deal with the protection of children without adequate parental care, who work in services for children and youth in centers for social work or with service providers .

"It is mandatory that the participants, when applying, submit a short CV, with information on education and workplace", emphasized Mrkić.

Those interested can apply no later than April 19, 2024, via e-mail: impuls.nvo@gmail.com.

The project "Every child is important - support for foster families, children in foster families and families at risk in Nikšić and Herceg Novi" is financed from EU pre-accession funds.
