By announcing a tender worth 3,82 million euros, including VAT, the Administration for Capital Projects and the Municipality of Kolašin took the first step towards the realization of the project of building the main road with infrastructure in the settlement of Breza.
In the technical documentation, it is explained that the subject of the project is "the reconstruction of the existing and the construction of new access roads (streets and parts of streets in the Breza settlement) in the traffic-infrastructure corridor". As it says, the project is being implemented "mainly according to the current Detailed Urban Plan (DUP)" for that part of the city. The roads, it is written in the documentation, should provide access to urban plots where there is a five-star hotel, whose investor is "Montenegro Luxury Hotels and Resorts" from Kotor.
In relation to the General Urban Development of Kolašin from 2014 and the DUP "Breza" adopted three years earlier, the current conceptual solution does not plan a connection from the highway via Tara.
"A conceptual solution was drawn up, which proposed moving the intersection of the access road and the Street of the Heroes of the Mojkovačka Bitka, in a way to avoid the Tara River. Given that the entire planned settlement will practically rely, in addition to one, possibly two, on this intersection, an intersection with a circular traffic flow is proposed. The intersection enables the passage of buses. On the basis of the conceptual solution, a Decision was made on determining the location of a local object of general interest, which, in addition to the UTU, is the basis for the development of the Main Project", the technical documentation reads.
From the documentation, it can be seen that the overall planned construction of the project, i.e. the reconstruction of several traffic roads or their parts, in a total length of almost two kilometers and a roundabout. The construction of footpaths on both sides of the streets is also planned. The deadline for the completion of the works is 18 months from the day the contractor is introduced to the job.
As the Vice President of the Municipality told "Vijesta". Vasilije Ivanovic, in charge of infrastructure projects, the works for which the tender has been announced will mean a lot for the improvement of traffic in that part of the city and access to more hotels and apartments, which are being built or have been built.
"The value of those investments is around 8,5 million euros. That, as well as the promises we have for future projects from the Government, guarantee that Kolašin will be a city with solved infrastructure problems in the coming years", claims Ivanović.
The construction of the luxury hotel "Breza" began four years ago, and almost since then plans have been ongoing to fulfill the obligations to investors, that is, to provide an access road. In that part of the city, the construction of several more tourist and residential buildings is underway, and in the past years mechanization and freight vehicles have further devastated the existing roads on Breza.
