Podgorica: Dilapidated facade threatens pedestrians

The facade of the solitaire on Tuška put in Ulica 4. jula, popular Limun, has been falling apart for the last few days, claims the tenant of the building, Drago Šljivančanin.

He emphasized that the company "ANNI engineering" is responsible for the maintenance of the solitaire, but claims that they are not looking at the current problems with the facade.

However, the company told "Vijesti" that maintenance is their responsibility, but that they were not aware of any problems with the facade.

"In our jurisdiction is the maintenance of the yellow solitaire in 4. Jula Street, maintenance of hygiene and lighting in the entrance, small repairs and other works at the request of the Tenants' Assembly. Certainly, we would like to emphasize that the contract on mutual relations, rights and obligations between our company and the mentioned entrance does not cover maintenance of the facade", they state from "Anni engineering".

They emphasized that they did not have any requests from tenants or the Assembly for intervention on the facade.

They pointed out that "they were based on problems that threatened the health and safety of the tenants - the overhaul of the elevator, the nets that prevent the entry of pigeons in the fire-fighting staircase, the removal of pigeon excrement and the repair of the roof and entrance doors".

They stated that they will still go to the field and determine what is wrong with the facade.

Šljivančanin points out that tenants and passers-by are at risk due to the dilapidated facade.

"During the night, a piece of facade fell on my terrace. If someone was there, they would be in danger," says Šljivančanin, who expects the reaction of the city services before "it is too late, because so far there has been no help or response."

Director of the Housing Agency, Vladimir Tomović, told "Vijesta" that the maintenance of common parts of the building, including the facade, is not within their competence.

He said that it is the obligation of the owners to make repairs or hire a company that will do it.

Tomović also emphasized that the Housing Agency did not receive any requests from the tenants of that building to intervene due to problems with the facade.
