The Bečići hotel complex "Iberostar Bellevue" will be the first hotel in Montenegro to build a solar power plant.

The project, worth a million euros, is realized by the company "Bellevue hotels group", owned by the Ćupić family, which owns the hotel.

As "Vijesti" was told, the installation of a total of 1.472 panels on the roofs of three hotels, which unite the complex in Bečići, is in the final phase.

"There will be a total of 1.472 panels of 632,96 KWp of installed power of the solar power plant (the measurement unit kWp means kilowatt-peak or kilowatt of peak power, when the sun is at its zenith). A total of 14 inventors will be installed. The goal is to reduce monthly expenses for electricity through the installation of photovoltaic systems, to provide energy independence to users, reduce carbon dioxide emissions to the lowest possible level and preserve the environment. We expect that solar energy will soon become a standard in the Montenegrin hotel sector and the entire tourism industry", they told "Vijesta" in that company, stating that they received all the necessary approvals, and after that started the implementation of the million-dollar project.

As they point out, their average monthly bill for consumed electricity amounts to around one hundred thousand euros.

"We expect that with the construction of the solar power plant, the total saving of electricity at the annual level will be 16,7 percent. We believe that renewable energy sources are becoming an inevitable choice and an important step for the sustainability of the operations of an increasing number of business entities in Montenegro, especially on the coast. Economic reasons, but also a strong awareness of the importance of environmental protection, are the key reasons why many companies switch to renewable energy sources, among which solar energy has been leading the way for several years due to its profitability. "Providing, first of all, economical and sustainable alternatives to traditional sources, solar energy is already undoubtedly setting new standards in the tourism industry," said the representatives of "Bellevue hotels group".

It is known that a large number of hotels both on the Adriatic and in the Mediterranean have recognized the importance and benefits of investing in solar infrastructure in order to use the great potential and power of the most available form of energy, which, in addition to protecting the environment, achieve financial gains.
