On February 18, the game wardens of the Directorate for Management of Forests and Hunting Grounds found two people on the entrance road to the "Komovi" Special Purpose Hunting Ground, but they were denied access on that occasion because they had not announced the hunt to the authorities. In addition, they were not in an area where the hunting ban is in force, and they had all the necessary permits.
This is what they officially told "Vijesta" from that Administration. According to the unofficial information of "Vijesti", on February 18 in the town of Uvački Potok near the Komovi Nature Park, forest inspectors found at least four hunters in an area where hunting is strictly prohibited. The same source explained that the case, which happened in the Kolašin Regional Unit (PJ), was reported to the authorities, but also that after their pressure, no record was made while the hunters were released.
They also claim that he is the acting (acting) assistant director of the Directorate for Inspection Affairs Darko Rašović who coordinates the work of the forestry inspection, then called the authorities to let the hunters go without a written report.
Problems with the gamekeepers in Kolašin were previously pointed out by the local Hunting Society (LD) "Lovac". They said that individual game wardens enable groups of poachers to hunt outside the rules and on days when it is not allowed, "providing them with logistics and getting money for it".
The Administration clarified that on February 18, two hunters were found on the entrance road to the hunting ground during a control tour of the special purpose hunting ground "Komovi". As they state, after the control, it was established that they had seasonal permits for hunting in that hunting zone, but that they did not announce their entry even though they were required to. They pointed out that after talking with the hunters, the inspectors determined that they had not announced the hunt, so their access to that zone was prohibited.
"Record No. 03/10-314/24-109/1 dated 19.02.2024/XNUMX/XNUMX was made about the control visit. in which the details of the control and the fact that the mentioned persons were not caught in the hunting ban and that they left the border area after the control were recorded. The Administration responsibly asserts that none of the employees of PJ Kolašin was contacted in any way by anyone, not even by the state inspector Darko Rašović, neither during the inspection nor after it," the Administration's reply reads.
They point out that the game wardens did their work without interference, and then from the Uvački Potok they continued their controls through the hunting ground they cover, which is confirmed by the record. They pointed out that the officers of PJ Kolašin, who are in charge of guarding the hunting grounds, visit the hunting grounds seven days a week, in the early morning and evening hours, during holidays, and that they also have three hunting cameras with which they monitor a large number of game animals in the hunting grounds.
They state that they are very satisfied with the number, health condition and diversity of the game in the hunting grounds, and that they have also installed two salt pens. They stated that the goal is to protect game in the area of this hunting ground in a proper and continuous way, to which they will devote attention and resources.
