Today, the Parliament of Montenegro appointed Vladimir Drekalović and Naod Zorić as members of the RTCG Council.
44 MPs voted, 43 were in favor, and one abstained.
Drelaković is a full professor at the University of Montenegro, and Zorić is an artist.
MP of Democratic Montenegro Boris Bogdanović said that RTCG "turned into a pawn of political power" and that "when this happens, the whole society becomes a board on which dangerous political games are played".
"On the night of the election of the Acting Director of the Police Directorate, RTCG decided to turn its news into exactly the old news we know well - recycled, repainted, coated, with new labels of lies. And when the RTCG portal or any other part of the Public Service becomes a pawn in political games of power, then the whole society becomes one chessboard on which dangerous political games are played. Media manipulation has not been eradicated, it has only adapted and mutated, continuing to spread its poison. RTCG has somehow transformed itself into a virus that has become resistant to the truth. Every time the truth dies on the Public Service, then a part of democracy dies," said Bogdanović.
Member of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD) Slaven Radunović said that during the rule of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) they did not have the opportunity to defend themselves at the RTCG.
"That is no longer the case, because today they also have the opportunity to represent their views on the Public Service. That is what we fought for and I am glad that each of you can be a guest," Radunović said.
DPS MP Aleksandra Vuković Kuč said that there is no worse marketing for the Public Service than being defended by the Democratic Front (DF).
"As soon as DF defends him, whether free or paid, he speaks of lawlessness in the Public Service", said Vuković Kuč.
Member of Parliament for the Europe Now Movement, Jelena Nedović, said that before it could not happen that "anyone from the opposition could spy on the RTCG" and that this is not the case today.
