Member of the Social Democrats (SD) in the Assembly of the capital Miloš Mašković announced that MrThe regular bus service in Podgorica will not operate on May 5 due to a religious holiday, and that zand May 1, work.
This information, he claims, was confirmed to him today in several telephone conversations with representatives of the company Putevi, which manages the Work Unit for regular passenger transport.
"I have not been able to get information about what kind of decision it is and what legal solution it is based on, although I received a verbal promise from one of the managers in that sector that I would get that information. It is clear that the interruption of public transport can have significant consequences for citizens who depend on this type of service for daily needs, such as going to work or visiting a doctor. On the other hand, Podgorica is a capital city where people of different religions, nations, professions, needs... and who want to do their regular work that day obligations," said Mašković.
He added that an interruption in the continuity of public services due to any holiday, state or religious, renders its existence meaningless and reduces its functionality.
"With that logic, we should send the firemen, employees of the water supply and utility companies home. However, I am afraid that something much more dangerous is hidden behind a decision like this. I call on the city administration to ensure the functionality of public services and justify the adoption of such decisions," he said. Maskovic.
