The traditional event "St. Basil's Days", which has been organized since 1996, will begin on May 7 with the promotion of the collection of works "St. Basil of Ostroški - 350 years since the presentation", which will be held in the Parish House in Nikšić, starting at 20 p.m.
On Wednesday, May 8, in the hall of the Nikšić Theater, a humanitarian exhibition of calligraphy entitled "Writing in Cyrillic is our obligation" will be organized, while a day later, also in the Nikšić Theater, the opera "Despot Stefan" will be performed. On Friday, a promotion of the collected works of academician Mir Vuksanović will be organized in "Zahumlje".
On Saturday, May 11, in the Cathedral Church of St. A solemn vigil will be organized for Vasilije Ostroški at 18:12, and two hours later a screening of the film "St. Vasilije Ostroški, Book of Miracles" is planned. The event ends on May XNUMX, the day when Vasilije, who was declared a saint for his healing powers, passed away.
On that day, the holy bishop's liturgy will be served, while at 18 p.m., a solemn litany begins in the streets of the city, which gathers thousands of believers from the country and the region every year.
Since last year, when it was adopted that May 12 will be the city's celebration, the event "St. Basil's Days" has been jointly organized by the Eparchy of Budamiljansko-Nikšić, the Church Municipality and the Municipality of Nikšić.
