Today, on the Day of Victory over Fascism, we pay tribute to the brave fighters who stood up to the darkness of fascism and laid down their lives for freedom, and express our deep respect for their sacrifice and unwavering fight for the ideals of anti-fascism, which we proudly inherit today, said the Vice-President of the Assembly Zdenka Popović.
Today she laid a wreath at the Partisan Fighter Monument in Gorica.
"This day is not only an opportunity to remember the past, but also to renew our determination in the fight for the values that our ancestors fought for. Let their example be our guide in building a society of equal opportunities, freedom of expression and respect for diversity. United in to our determination to never forget the victims of fascism and to persistently fight against all forms of intolerance and extremism, proudly preserve the heritage of our past and build a better future for all citizens of Montenegro," the announcement states.
